Czech Social Democrats wanted Rychetsky for president - press ... of the changes in the health system, such as the introduction of patients' fees, that have been in effect since January, had been proposed by the opposition which says they are at variance with the constitution. Constitutional Court chairman Pavel Rychetsky today said the court needs to formulate its position.
Next time it will give a verdict, he indicated. Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek said in the court today that the health reform, including the fees, has benefited both patients and the state. Health Minister Tomas Julinek, on his part, told the judges that the goal of the fees was to prevent abuse of medical care. The court is to specify the term of its next debate on the issue at its official message board.
