Gunmen in Somalia have kidnapped one Somali and two Italian aid workers south of the capital, Mogadishu.
Security officials say they have begun a search for the abductees. The three humanitarian aid workers have been in Somalia working for the non-governmental organisation North-South Italian Cooperation. Aid workers, including foreigners, have been repeatedly targeted by armed groups in Somalia in recent months. Security in the eastern African country has been unstable for more than a year since a joint Somali-Ethiopian force toppled the Islamist government.
