Germany's annual Love Parade festival is underway on a blocked highway in the western city of Dortmund.
The parade is being held in the west of Germany for a second year after leaving Berlin, where the annual spectacle began in 1989. Organisers has predicted a turnout of one and a half to two million at the event, which is taking place under the motto "Highway to Love." The event is to continue all night in city clubs and other dance venues in Dortmund.
