Spanish police have arrested eight people in an operation against a unit of the Basque separatist group ETA.

Suspected ETA bombing in northern Spain ... in May, in which one officer died. The arrests follow bomb explosions in two popular northern holiday resorts over the weekend that were claimed by the Basque rebels. ETA has been blamed for killing more than 800 people since 1968 in its campaign for an independent Basque state.
