Two German teams are in the competition. Bayern Munich are in Group F and face Olympique Lyon, Steaua Bucharest and Fiorentina. Werder Bremen drew Group B opponents Inter Milan, Panathinaikos Athens, and Cypriot squad Anorthosis Famagusta.
