Anti-government protests in Thailand appear to be spreading from the capital Bangkok.
Supporters of the so-called People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD) have forced three airpoirts to close down, including Phuket International Airport. Protesters reportedly stormed runways and airport buildings and set up road blocks. Rail services have also been disrupted throughout the country. The airport protests came as thousands of activists laid siege to Bangkok's Government House for the fourth straight day, calling for Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej to resign. They accuse him of being an illegitimate proxy of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra who was ousted by a military coup in 2006.
