The department of cybernetics, specifically the centre of agent technologies, has been cooperating with Americans since 1999 in the defence sphere, including the US Air Force. In 2007, the centre worked on the development of AGENTFLY for the control of pilotless aircraft without the control tower. The system makes part of a wide array of research spheres Czech science could provide to the Missile Defence Agency (MDA). The Czech Republic has earmarked the spheres of cooperation in connection with the U.S. plans to build an anti-missile base in the Czech Republic. Washington and Prague have agreed on the formation of "strategic partnership" that may give more opportunities to Czech scientists and companies.
