Zimbabwe's opposition leader Tsvangirai freed after detention ... party and the opposition have resumed in South Africa, more than two weeks after they stalled due to a deadlock.
The talks include President Robert Mugabe's ZANU-PF party and two factions of the opposition Movement for Democratic Change. They follow threats by Mugabe to form a government without opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai, even though Tsvangirai's MDC has a majority in parliament. Meanwhile Zimbabwe's government finally yielded to pressure and said it would lift a three-month ban on NGOs distributing food aid in the hunger-stricken country.
