The trial of former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic has begun at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in the Hague.

Karadzic in custody of war crimes tribunal in The Hague ... all counts on his behalf. The indictment includes genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes, relating among other things to the murder of thousands of civilians in Srebrenica in 1995 by Bosnian Serb forces. A next session was set for September 17.
