Bush has cancelled plans to go to the Republican National Convention and concentrate instead on Hurricane Gustav which is expected to strike Louisiana on Monday. Gustav, which has already killed over 80 people in the Caribbean, is expected to make landfall on Monday afternoon somewhere between western Mississippi and East Texas. Kennedy speaks at Democratic convention ... described Gustav as "the storm of the century" and urged all residents to comply with the evacuation demand. Bush and his administration were harshly criticized for failing to adequately prepare and respond when Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans and the Gulf Coast three years ago.
