Germany Welcomes Israel-Hamas Ceasefire ... the release of a UN report gaging the progress toward so-called Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). According to the report there had been improvement in providing debt relief to the world's poorest countries but not when it came to fulfilling trade and development commitments. The report showed that donors from rich countries would have to increase their development assistance by more than 12 billion euros a year by 2010 in order to meet the target set up at the G8 Summit in Gleneagles three years ago.
