At least 163 people have been killed in Haiti due to heavy rain produced by Tropical Storm Hanna.
Large parts of the city of Gonaives are under water following mass flooding. The death toll is likely to incease sharply as police discover the full extent of the damage from Hannna, the third storm to hit the country in the last 21 days. United Nations peacekeepers in Haiti say 250,000 people are affected and they are trying to ease the crisis by distributing food in boats. Aid workers say the region's poorest country will need a major relief effort to recover.
