Unconfirmed reports put the toll at over 500. Hanna unleashed flooding and landslides in Haiti that displaced thousands and left as many as 200,000 with little or no food or water. The even more powerful Hurricane Ike also threatens Caribbean islands and the United States. Ike and Hanna follow Hurricane Gustav, which ripped through the Caribbean before htting the US Gulf Coast near New Orleans.
