US Vice-President Dick Cheney has accused Russia of using intimidation and force against former Soviet Union states.
Speaking at an economic conference in northern Italy, Cheney said Moscow "fuelling" international conflict and had given no satisfactory justification for invading Georgia in support of the Republic's breakaway province South Ossetia. He called for continued NATO enlargement, despite Moscow's opposition. Cheney is in Italy as part of a European tour.
