Thai court issues warrants for protest leaders ... ruling six-party coalition failed to show up to re-elect Samak as prime minister during an emergency session of parliament. Thailand's constitutional court removed Samak from office three days ago after ruling that he had violated the constitution by appearing on a celebrity cooking show on television. Prior to the ruling, anti-government protesters had occupied the prime minister's offices for two weeks, demanding that he step down. They argue that Samak was a puppet of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, who was ousted in a military coup two years ago.
