India's capital, New Delhi, has been hit by a series of bomb blasts.
A government spokesman said 18 people were killed and dozens injured when five separate explosions rocked the city within 30 minutes of each other. According to unconfirmed reports two further live bombs were also found and defused. India television said the bombs were set off at a busy market place, a thoroughfare and at a parking lot and were aimed at people doing their weekend shopping. A little known Islamist terrorist group called the Indian Mujahadeen has claimed responsibility for the bombings.
