A NATO force has been ambushed by insurgents in eastern Afghanistan and suffered some casualties.
An alliance spokesperson said the ambush in Kunar occurred early Thursday just hours after a soldier of NATO's International Security Assistance Force died in a separate attack in another area of the province which borders Pakistan. Thursday's ambush came a day after four US soldiers and an Afghan national were killed in a roadside bomb on a highway in a southeastern area.
