In a statement, Jason Weinberg said the 34-year-old double Oscar-winner had visited her doctor after "experiencing some discomfort".
The actress was "prescribed an immediate course of action that included a brief hospitalisation" to remove the growth, he added.
Swank won Oscars for her roles in Boys Don't Cry and Million Dollar Baby.
The star was named best actress in 2000 and 2005, respectively.
"Her condition has been resolved and there are no continuing health issues, with the exception of some short-term rest and recuperation," Mr Weinberg said.
He declined to give further details on the procedure.
Swank will next been seen on the big screen in the forthcoming film Amelia, based on the life of pioneering aviator Amelia Earhart.
