19.09.2008 - Russia agains suspends trading
Trading has again been suspended on Russia's leading stock
exchanges within an hour of reopening, although shares bounced back
sharply from recent heavy losses. The MICEX, where most share
trading takes place, rose 17.7 percent, while the benchmark RTS had
climbed by 13.9 percent before trading was again halted Friday.
Both indexes were shut down for nearly two days starting on
Wednesday after the MICEX suffered one-day losses of a scale not
seen since Russia's 1998 financial collapse.
