In football, Mönchengladbach and Cologne have been knocked out of the German Cup.
Second division side Mainz beat Cologne 3-1 and Energie Cottbus defeated Mönchengladbach 3-0. In the other matches played on Tuesday Erzgebirge Aue lost 2-1 to Werder Bremen and Rostock clinched a 2-1 victory against Rostock.
