Meanwhile Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told world leaders in New York that some "bullying" powers were trying to thwart Iran's peaceful nuclear ambitions. He said Tehran would resist and defend its right to nuclear power. Despite three rounds of UN Security Council sanctions, Iran continues to defy calls by the United States and its Western allies to halt its uranium enrichment activities.
